Kinesthetic Techniques
These Workshops focus on using kinesthetic (movement-learning) techniques:
- All the Smart Math Moves –fun movement strategies in teaching math and pre-math skills
- All the Smart Science Moves – equally fun movement strategies to teach science concepts. Tadpoles wiggle, fish swim, eggs hatch, bubbles float and pop! Use these movement opportunities to introduce children to the wonderful world of science exploration. This workshop introduces teachers to a variety of “kid-tested” movement-learning strategies that are fun, engaging, and will engage all your active learners! (3 contact hours)
- Using Stories, Books, and Dramatic Play to Teach Literacy – lots of fun! It’s just what it describes.
- Themes and Schemes –( New!) How to use movement and dramatic play to teach special units – fire prevention; transportation; holiday fun; community helpers; seasonal themes…
- Movin’ Through Your Day –Demonstrates how to incorporate small bits of energetic activities into the daily schedule so that kids are getting 60 minutes of physical activity every day!
- Make Your Classroom a Moving Experience! – Shows teachers how to incorporate movement-learning into every curricular area in fun and challenging ways.
Classroom Management
The next two workshops were developed to help teachers practice classroom management in a fun and “user-friendly” ways:
- Stop! Listen! Focus! – Just what it says – ways to get kids to pay attention
- Things To Do While Standing in Line and Other Transitional Activities – The title says it all!
Learning Strategies
Other workshops that show many different learning strategies that focus on student-learning rather than “teacher-teaching”:
- Teaching Creatively
- Take It OFF the Page!
- Teaching Science for Pre-K and Early Elementary - I began my teaching career as a biology teacher and still enjoy sharing ideas and strategies that encourage teachers to teach science in a hands-on, experimental way.
- Create It, Relate It, Take It – a very hands-on “crafts” class where learning props are created to facilitate classroom activities and objectives.
Toddler-Infant:
Movement and Play for Infants and Toddlers- Strategies that stimulate muscle and brain development at the most crucial time of our children’s lives!
